How to open the 2-tab cartridge without damaging the label
Today we're going to take a quick and easy look at how to open these kinds of 2-tab 8-track cartridges. Many people fear damaging the iconic label, but with the right tools and technique, it's possible to open it without damaging the label.

What you need
- A flathead screwdriver (large enough to fit into the clip opening)
How to do it
1. Insert the screwdriver
2. Bend the screwdriver downwards
3. Open the tab
4. Open the cartridge
5. Voilà!
Tips and tricks
First practice on a cartridge that you are not too concerned about. The technique might requires a bit of practice.
Be careful not to pinch the tape when reassembling the cassette. Line up the parts carefully before pressing them together.
To reassemble: Start at the bottom to avoid pinching the label, then press the cartridge together until both tabs snaps back into place.
